1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you create a Gurway account we collect your name, email address, phone number, and password hash.

Location data: With your permission, we collect precise GPS location while the app is in use to match you with nearby drivers, display your route, and record your trip.

Payment information: Payment card details are processed by our PCI-DSS certified payment processor. Gurway does not store full card numbers on its servers.

Trip data: We record pickup and drop-off locations, route taken, fare, and driver details for every completed trip.

Device data: We collect device identifiers, operating system version, app version, and crash logs to improve app performance and security.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide, operate, and improve the Gurway service
To match riders with available drivers
To process payments and send receipts
To provide customer and safety support
To send service-related notifications (trip confirmations, receipts, safety alerts)
To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and safety incidents
To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties for advertising purposes.

3. Information Sharing

We share your information only as necessary to provide the service:

With your driver: Your first name and pickup location are shared when a trip is matched.
With payment processors: To authorise and capture payment.
With cloud infrastructure providers: We use Google Cloud Platform to host our services.
With law enforcement: Where required by law or to protect the safety of users.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Trip records are retained for 3 years for accounting and legal compliance. When you delete your account, your personal data is permanently removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Object to certain processing activities

Gurway is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email at least 14 days before they take effect.
