Rider Help CentreEarnings & Payments
When do I get paid?
Gurway pays drivers weekly, every Monday, directly to your registered bank account. You can also request an instant payout (subject to a small processing fee) at any time from the Earnings tab.
How is my fare share calculated?
You keep up to 95% of every fare. Gurway's platform fee is just 5%, the lowest in the industry. Your exact share is shown clearly in the app before you accept each trip.
What counts as a completed trip for payment?
A trip is marked complete when you end it in the Driver app after reaching the rider's destination. Payment is processed automatically and included in your next weekly payout.
How do I dispute an incorrect payment?
Go to Earnings → Trip History, select the trip, and tap "Dispute fare". Our payments team will investigate and respond within 2 business days.
Vehicle Requirements
What are the vehicle requirements to drive with Gurway?
Your vehicle must be 2015 or newer, have 4 doors, pass a roadworthy inspection, and be registered and insured in your name or listed under a fleet operator account. Full requirements are in the Driver app under Documents.
How often must my vehicle be inspected?
Gurway requires a vehicle inspection every 6 months. You can complete this at any Gurway-approved inspection centre. A reminder will be sent 4 weeks before your inspection expires.
Can I drive multiple vehicles?
You can register up to two vehicles on your account. Each must be individually approved and inspected. Only one vehicle can be active at a time.
Safety & Insurance
Am I insured while driving for Gurway?
Yes. Gurway's commercial insurance policy covers you from the moment you accept a trip to the moment the trip ends. This is in addition to your personal vehicle insurance.
What do I do if I'm involved in an accident?
Ensure everyone is safe first and call emergency services if needed. Then tap "Report incident" in the Driver app. Gurway's incident team will guide you through the next steps and insurance claim process.
How do I report a problem with a rider?
After the trip ends, go to Trip History, select the trip, and tap "Report rider". You can also call our 24/7 Driver Safety Line directly from the app's emergency menu.
Account & Onboarding
How long does driver approval take?
Most driver applications are reviewed within 2–3 business days. Background checks can occasionally take up to 5 business days depending on your location.
What documents do I need to sign up?
You'll need: a valid driver's licence, proof of vehicle insurance, your vehicle registration, and a passed roadworthy certificate. Upload them in the Driver app during onboarding.
How do I go online and offline?
Tap the toggle at the top of the home screen in the Driver app. Going offline means you won't receive new trip requests, but any active trip will still complete normally.
What happens if my rating drops below 4.5?
Gurway will notify you and offer access to our Driver Improvement Programme — a short course covering customer service best practices. Accounts below 4.0 may be suspended pending review.
